Structure and Committees
The structure of the Iranian Women’s Organization of Ontario is comprised of:
* General Meeting: Is called once a year where the Board of Directors are elected for a two year period.
* Board of Directors: Include the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary. There are three members at large and two alternate members.
* Committees:
- Grants & Budget Committee
- Public Relations Committee
- Membership Committee
- Education & Workshop Committee
- Logistics & Services Committee
Grants & Budget’s Committee:

1 – Contacting all government agencies providing grants to non-profit organizations.
2 – Consulting Members of the Board in order to make decisions on applying for funding.
3 – Receiving and filling the required forms for funding and corresponding with the relevant agencies.
4 – Participation in government agencies’ meetings, in order to become aware of the latest developments concerning funding opportunities.
5 – Preparing progress and annual reports for the above-mentioned agencies or other relevant sources.
6 – Planning Fund-raising events for IWOO.
Public Relations’ Committee:

1 – Contacting the media to inform the Iranian Community of IWOO’s activities.
2 – Long-term planning for IWOO’s programs and preparing & forwarding
notices & advertisements to the media.
3 – Preparing & publishing brochures, flyers & other publications , introducing IWOO’s activities.
4 – Translating information regarding women & newcomers to Canada, to familiarize them with current laws & regulations, as well as the available resources.
Memberships’ Committee:

1 – Preparing and updating a list of IWOO members, including individuals and agencies.
2 – Contacting all members through internet, mail or telephone, in order to renew their membership.
3 – Contacting non-members and encouraging them to join IWOO or support its activities.
4 – Receiving membership fees and submitting it to the treasurer.
Workshops’ Committee:

1 – Planning & scheduling workshop programs.
2 – Collaborating with the specialized agencies to prepare workshops for IWOO members, with their collaboration.
3 – Participating in introductory programs, in order to be informed of the available workshops for IWOO.
4 – Informing the Public Relations Committee on forthcoming workshop schedules, in order to inform the media.
Logistics & Services’ Committee:

1 – Long-term planning for recreational and leisure activities & festivals.
2 – Preparing and providing services in all IWOO activities: Festivities, trips, workshops, picnics, etc.
